Inside the $450MILLION Liner

Is this the most luxurious cruise ship in the world? Inside the $450MILLION liner complete with Versace crockery, Murano glass fittings and an 18-hole putting green

They're calling it the most luxurious cruise ship ever built.
And with its unprecedented collection of lavish suites, a state of the art spa, and a theatre on board which cost a staggering $450million to build - they might just be right.
Today, cruise line Regent will be christening the Seven Seas Explorer to mark the beginning of its new life on the water, with Princess Charlene of Monaco doing the honours.

On board there is a large teak pool deck lined with comfortable, white lounge chairs around a rectangular swimming pool complete with two heated whirlpools
It's the first new ship for Regent in over a decade and took a whopping $450million to build, making it cost more per berth than any other cruise ship currently at sea.
At 55,254 gross-registered tons and carrying 750 guests, the all-suite, all-balcony ship boasts one of the highest space ratios and lowest guest to crew ratios in the cruise industry.
Following its maiden voyage on July 20, Seven Seas Explorer will spend its inaugural season in Europe before heading to Miami for a series of Caribbean voyages.  
The ship’s masterpiece is the highly acclaimed, 4,443 square-foot Regent Suite. The lavishly appointed two-bedroom suite features an in-room spa retreat, a first at sea, that comes complete with unlimited complimentary spa treatments from Canyon Ranch.
 An outdoor, glass-enclosed sitting area off the dining room provides 270-degree views over the ship’s bow. The living room features a black marble bar with chic black lacquered stools and a custom Steinway Maroque piano by famed designer Dakota Jackson. 
But those who haven't booked into the top suite will still have plenty of opulent features and accommodation options to enjoy.
On board there is a large teak pool deck lined with comfortable, white lounge chairs around a rectangular swimming pool complete with two heated whirlpools. Above the main pool circular lounge chairs for two with retractable covers can be found.
The Pool Bar and Grill will cater for all guests' needs, with the latter serving grilled-to-order burgers, seafood, sandwiches and fresh salad and it has seating for up to 158 passengers.
The Meridian Lounge is where cruisers will be able to head for pre-dinner drinks (all of which are included in the fare, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and boasts a dance floor and a stage for live musical performances.

A second area to unwind in is the Explorer Lounge which will be is perfect for a nightcap and is to offer live music every night.
A third space is the Observation Lounge which provides stunning views of the ship and and sea.

To add to the glamour, the chargers and bread plates are by Versace. But the focal point of the restaurant is the impressive hand-blown Murano glass ceiling fixture. Similar sun-burst shaped chandeliers also adorn the restaurant's ceiling.
Another restaurant on board is the chic Parisian-style Chartreuse which serves classic French fare with a modern twist with such dishes as seared scallops with chorizo and roasted milk-fed veal fillet with raspberry and rhubarb marmalade accompanied by sauteed Swiss chard.

Prime 7, an updated version of Regent's signature steakhouse is also on board - but reservations will be required. 
A further restaurant, Pacific Rim, serves Pan Asian food such as miso black cod wrapped in hoba leaf with pickled daikon and Chinese barbecue pork ribs and Thai green curry.
A sports deck is also available, ringed with a jogging track and features a netted area for driving golf balls. Also featured is an 18 hole putting green that wraps around a paddle tennis court - which also double up as a pickleball court (a mix between badminton, tennis, and ping-pong).
For those looking for alternative entertainment, a small casino boasts a dozen slot machines and six table games and a well-stocked library provides a calm nook for guests looking to escape into a good book.
Other amenities include a smoking lounge, a soothing, lavishly appointed, state-of-the-art spa, plus salon and gym and a boutique area.
