You're going to need a bigger watering can! The annual flower parade that uses half a MILLION dahlias to create stunning floral floats

  • Dutch town of Zundert hosted its annual Flower Parade on Sunday, which showcased 20 stunning floats
  • Half a million dahlias were used to create figures from a smoke-breathing dragon to a red-haired woman
  • Volunteers begin working on their floral floats - which can reach staggering lengths of 65ft - in May

Thousands of flowers adorned the streets of a tiny Dutch town at the weekend, taking on the form of mystical creatures and tussling animals.
Mounted on floral floats, these breathtaking designs processed through the town of Zundert in its annual Corso Zundert Flower Parade on Sunday 4.
Teams of volunteers were competing for the best-designed flower float in this year's competition, which saw thousands of dahlias in incredible shapes on 20 floats, from foxes playing and a huge, golden lion to a flame-haired woman and a bizarre wind-swept man.
According to the parade organizers, floats can reach lengths of 65ft and heights of 30ft with a staggering half a million flowers used.
The event occurs on the first September of every year but volunteers begin preparing their entry as early as May to be ready in time.
